Indian Themed Tented Village

Construction Progress So Far

Hi, You can keep coming back to this page to check on progress of our Indian Themed Tented Village at Waddecar. We've quite a tight schedule but we're aiming to have the facility completed and operational between Easter and Spring Bank Holiday Week. We're taking bookings now for dates beyond that so we have to make sure we're done in time.

So far, the new entrance to the field has been created and all the services laid such as gas, electric and so on. This latest weekend, we dug out the new drainage for the field as it used to be quite "moist" in places......Work is also progressing on the conversion of the dining shelter into a fully fitted kitchen and this coming weekend we have a huge team on-site to help lay many of the pathways and do some landscaping.

A view from a tree showing the new drainage ditches and the dining shelter having a new roof fitted Phil, one of our Crew members digging in new drainage, you can see the tent frames showing positioning in the background Ross digging in one of the main drainage arteries showing a coil of land drainage pipe in the background Another aerial view showing the layout of the tents and the drainage channels going in.

The inside of the dining shelter now clad in timber and receiving its second coat of paint Inside again noting the window frame stripped back ready to repaint and the hot water boiler hung ready for plumbing in Mick up a ladder outside re-staining the exterior of the building to protect it as well as making it look more presentable Might look a mess at the moment but this is where the services feed into the building. From nothing, this will now have gas, electricity and water

Note the new felt roof and barge boards The drainage ditches now on the field with the drainage pipe installed and topped with rocks and gravel Showing the drainage pipes across the field and how they join. This should make the field a lot drier underfoot Inside the old dining shelter showing the new cupboards and worktop by the opening hatch. Space for fridge & freezer underneath

In goes the new stainless steel sink and one of the worktops, note the new water boiler for permanent hot water for washing-up The rear wall of the kitchen with plenty of storage space and worktop, the gap is for the brand new 6-burner cooker to slide in The old path to the dining shelter reclaimed. Had overgrown to 6" wide but now uncovered and about to be re-fravelled Stig sorting out the gas connection to the main bulk tank ready to feed the new building

Dreadnought ESU busy refurbishing the old camp beds ready to have new canvas fitted to them. These will be going in the tents Jim lining the trenches with rocks for drainage before they're filled in Most trenches now filled in ready to re-seed the ground in April Might look far from perfect now but once raked & re-seeded and the growth is back it should look superb

The new cooker is moved in and sink unit now in position ready for plumbing in Brand new fridge & freezer delivered and installed under the worktop Still a building site but really starting to take shape now Laminate flooring now laid and job done ready for use

The outside of the kitchen diner all now complete
