Shooting Range
Details:
Our shooting range is situated in camp centre and consists of a fenced-off range for safety with stations for 5 people. The activity can be booked either on a self-help basis for those with the appropriate qualification (Small bore rifle association for Scouts or Guides) or for an additional fee, as an instructor-led activity subject to instructor availability.
Each hour long session is for 5 people although 10 people can be accommodated by alternating shots in two groups of five.
There is no restriction on the number of people on the activity within the hour long session but to have a "proper go" groups of over 10 should book more than one hour long session.
Scout Association guidelines require a parental permission form completing for each Scout who would be using the range. A sample form is here.
Instruction:
Instruction is not normally provided for this activity, Scout leaders with the appropriate qualifications as per POR i.e. National Small Bore Rifle Association Certificate will be allowed to run the activity on a self-help basis.
Alternatively, we do have some of our volunteer staff who have this qualification and if they are on-site at the time you want the activity, it may be possible to arrange for us to provide an instructor. Whereas we will do our best to provide instruction when requested, this cannot be guaranteed.
