Our purpose-build pond is also ideal for raft-building. Again,
on a self-help basis, all the equipment required is included,
barrels, poles, lashing ropes, helmets, buoyancy aids etcThe
creek is class C water, which doesn't require any BCU
qualifications. However, the Leader in charge will still need
their DC's permission. This could either be on a one off basis,
or a long term consent by way of a Form W.
This activity is for a half-day session which would allow 1
hour for the construction of the raft on the shore and then one
hour's use of the pond followed by another hour to dismantle &
put the equipment away.
It is possible that during the first and last hour
of a 3 hour session, the pond may be in use by canoeists

Instruction is not provided for this activity, each group
will require a "competent adult" whom we will show to the
pond,
assist in setting-up and leave to supervise once they are happy
