 Bleasdale
Base has recently been refurbished (Oct 07) and is a
much higher standard of building than previous. Now aimed at Adult
users only (e.g. Network weekends or a base for Leaders to run an
under-canvas camp from) Parlick Base is still available for Scout
Patrols, Explorers etc for one step above camping in a tent.
There is an electrical socket now provided but is only currently rated at 10 amps. This will happily run a laptop, TV, phone chargers etc but will trip out if any heavy load (I.e. anything with a heating element) is plugged in. There are current plans to have central heating & hot water plumbed in before Summer 2008

Bleasdale Base still has two bedrooms but the main room which has
gas heating has now been
reduced from 6 to 5 beds. The single bed serves both as easier
access to those with limited mobility and also as a comfortable
seating area. A foldaway dining table and 4 chairs allow for dining
indoors now.
The kitchen has been fully refitted with new cupboards &
worktops, a gas cooker with 4 rings, a grill and oven and the
addition of a fridge with a small freezer compartment. Crockery &
Cutlery are provided to cater for up to 12 people.
